Automatic mode
The default mode for standard operating behaviour. While the Water Witch is running in AUTOMATIC mode, it will attempt to best fill your pool or tank according to the configuration provided.
The Water Witch Smart Sense includes six operating modes tailored to various tank types to ensure there is an option to suit your particular pool, spa or water project.

You may change the tank type and volume at any time. See Setting tank type and volume.
NOTE: Even if set to AUTOMATIC mode, your Water Witch will not fill your pool or tank if is faulting. Press the ENTER button on the control box to clear the fault and return to regular operation.
Set level mode
Also known as debug mode. SET LEVEL allows you to receive immediate responses from the sensor for accurate feedback while adjusting the sensor position within the balance line.
NOTE: You can use SET LEVEL mode to diagnose issues with the sensor or to test solenoid operation.
Adjusting sensor height
You may change the configuration for your site by adjusting the target water level.
See Set sensor level.
Diagnosing issues
If you believe your Water Witch is not operating correctly, SET LEVEL mode can aid you with finding the cause.
See Checking for device operation.
Additional considerations
- If the control box is left on the SET LEVEL screen for 30 minutes, a Fault 2 will be triggered.
- After you have finished setup or diagnostics with set level, press ENTER to return your device to automatic mode.
Manual fill mode
When you require a one-off refill, the MANUAL FILL mode allows for an easy override to the default control box behaviour.
NOTE: Ensure that the sensor is operational and balance line is free from debris before setting a manual timer. If the sensor cannot detect the water level, your pool will continue filling and may overfill, potentially damaging the site.
Steps
- Press the MODE button until SET MANUAL appears.
- Press the ↑ and ↓ buttons to adjust the manual run timer by increments of 10 minutes. Holding the buttons will cycle through faster.
- Press ENTER to confirm the fill time.
The Water Witch will now run for the provided duration or until the sensor detects that the pool or tank is filled, whichever occurs first.
Additional considerations
- The water level must be low to run this function. Please do a proper estimate of the time it will take to fill your pool.
- If the control box is left on the SET MANUAL screen for 30 minutes without specifying a duration, a Fault 2 will be triggered.
