Checking a balance line

Inspect the balance line from within the pool.

There are two types of blockage that can occur in the balance line.

Blockage Type #1: Always On (FILL)

• Pool will overfill
• Fault 1 will trigger after timeout

Blockage Type #2: Always Off (SCAN)

• Pool will not fill
• No fault will trigger

Flushing the Balance Line

You can clear a blocked balance line by completing the following steps:

1. Turn off the control box at the power source.
2. Remove the end cap and sensor from the pipe. Set aside.
3. Run a garden hose down the vertical pipe section.
4. Turn on the water to high and flush out the debris.
5. Inspect the line for any visable blockages.
6. Add the sensor back into the pipe and fit the end cap.
7. Turn on the control box and press ENTER.

NOTE: You may need to temporarily remove the eyeball return (inside the pool) to allow maximum flow through the line.

In some cases of extreme or stubborn blockage, it is advised to call a qualified plumber.

Partial blockages may cause intermittent or inconsistent behaviour. Ensure the balance line is clear at least once yearly before turning the system on for operation.
