Fault Codes

The Water Witch was developed with fail-safes to reduce the probability of overfilling or damage to hardware and components when certain conditions occur. These fault codes are documented within this troubleshooter.

Once a fault code has been diagnosed and the issue rectified, press the ENTER button on your control box to clear the fault and return the unit to automatic operating mode.

Choose from the faults listed below to troubleshoot potential issues with your installation.

  • Fault 1 — FILL

Fault 1, also known as the FILL fault, is the most common fault encountered by users. If you experience this fault it means the unit has exceeded its expected runtime.

  • Fault 2 — MODE

Fault 2 or the MODE fault is an automatic reminder and fail-safe. It warns users that the unit has been left in SET LEVEL mode or MANUAL FILL mode for too long.

  • Fault 3 — VALVE

When Fault 3 occurs, it is either due to the control box detecting an incorrect configuration for the solenoid valve or that the cable has come loose while the Water Witch is filling the tank or pool.

  • Fault 4 — NO VALVE

When the control box is powered on it checks for the presence of a solenoid valve at regular intervals. Fault 4 occurs when no valve is detected. Upon clearing the fault, it will immediately trigger again until the issue causing the fault is resolved.

  • Fault 5 — BOOST

Fault 5 occurs when the voltage being sent from the control box to the solenoid is insufficient to open the valve.

  • Fault 6 — OUTPUT

A short circuit has been detected. This prevents the control box from sending a signal to the solenoid.
